In The Sims Series, an object is any item that can be picked up (usually) using the hand tool, and can be rotated, moved, and often deleted. If you cannot pick up or delete an object, you can use the cheat move objects to enable these options.

• Anything you can buy in Buy Mode
• Some build mode objects, like stairs, plants and fireplaces.
• Most things created by existing objects (puddles, floods, piles of leaves, trash piles etc.)
• Food, including plates of food, boards with food on, tins and pans of food, and other meals like pizza, chinese food and instant meals.
